WW2 US AIRBORNE GLIDER CAP PATCH EARLY TYPE

 This is an original American US Army Airborne Glider Infantry Cap Patch, worn on the overseas caps of all glider US Airborne Infantry troopers, until it was replaced by the “Paraglide” combined parachute/glider patch in August, 1944.

This pattern, an embroidered glider on a dark blue backing with a glider emblem embroidered in white cotton thread, and encircled with light blue thread is regarded as an early type. It was worn on the right side of the overseas cap.
