WWII erea Kukri or Gurkha military knife with leather sheath and 1 small knife.
The 1940's seems to be the period when two hanging straps became prevalent. The Indian-made Nepali pieces, especially embraced this idea and it became their standard for all military kukris.
The forward leaning leaf shaped blade provided the user with leveraged striking power.
The Gurkha knife was used by contemporary Gurkha Regiments in India. These ferocious fighters were infamous for their valor and for using the kukri an amazing "Tool of Death".
