1933 GERMAN SILVER DISHWARE WITH ORIGINAL MAKER MARKS

WITH SS AND HEER EAGLE MARKINGS DONE POST WAR

German silver plate with the inscription of the Schwarzwald Hotel produced by B.Bohrmann Nachfolger Company. B. Bohrmann's was a silver plate factory, which operated since 1865  in Frankfurt on Main, Germany.

The Schwarzwald Hotel is the Treschers Schwarzwald Hotel in Titisee-Neustadt, Germany.

"Hotel" silver is a form of electroplate that was manufactured for use in trains, on ships, in restaurants, and hotels. You can dent a sterling sugar bowl very easily—but a similar piece of hotel silver can be dropped without much harm silver because the underlying base metal is stronger than its silver exterior.

The plate also comes with the "SS" and "Heer Eagle" engraved on the plate post war.

Plate is also marked with the numbers 25 and 33.  The first number (25) relates to the density of the silver coating - 25g -  while the second number indicates the year of production (1933). 1933 was the year that Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany.    There is approximately $30.00 worth of silver in this plate.
