WW2 AMERICAN AIRBORNE 11th DIVISION PATCH

This is an original Airborne 11^th Division patch. 

The 11th Airborne Division is an American Airborne Division based in Alaska.  Made up of specialized airborne infantry and light infantry divisions that were based in Alaska.

First activated in February 1943 and made up of speciialized airborne infantry and light infantry divisions.   The 11lth  was held in reserve until June 1944 when it was sent to the Pacific Theater for combat in the Philippines.

In 1945 the division was sent to southern Japan and became part of the occupation force where it remained for 4 years.
