WW1 GERMAN GEW98 BROWN LEATHER TRIPLE AMMUNITION POUCHS DATED 1916

German: Great War German Army GEW98 ammunition pouchs matching pair. 

Original WW1, 1916 dated, three pocket GEW98 rifle pouchs are made from pebbled grain brown leather with white stitching.

It has 2 belt loops stitched and riveted and a metal D-rings on the back.

Each pocket fastens separately with a leather strap.

Great condition.  These GEW98 rifle pouchs came off this WW I ORIGINAL BELT AND BUCKLE SET .

The GEW98 ammo pouches were traditionally worn in pairs on the waist belt, either side of the belt buckle.   Each compartment holds two 5rd stripper clips with a pair of GEW98 pouchs carrying a total of 60 rounds.

Every soldier received 2 pouches (except for some second line support troops who only received one pouch).
