VINTAGE GERMAN WWII PHOTOGRAPH OF SS-DEUTSCHLAND OFFICER

This is an original image of an SS soldier with his SS1 Deutschland Officers Collar Tabs and SS Helmet.

Stamped on back Nur Fur Den Dienstgebrauch  (Only for service use). Handwritten date of Nov 3 either 1934 or 1939. 

SS1 - Formed as part of the SS-Verfügungstruppe in 1934. In 1937 SS-Standarte 1 Deutschland was the first unit to be fully equipped with camouflage (SS-Tarnjacke) and would later serve in the Anschluss, Sudetenland and then the invasion of Poland. After which it formed part of the 2nd SS Panzer Division "Das Reich".
