US PACKET FIRST AID CARLISLE MODEL BANDAGE IN METAL TIN DATED 1943
AMERICAN WW2 BANDAGE PACKETS CARLISLE MODEL WITH SULFANILAMIDE ORIGINAL
This is an original U.S. First Aid Bandage in original unused state, in a metal tin pained green.
GOVERNMENT ISSUED. These first aid packets are pressed brass, painted olive green and sealed with a pull tape. Each tin contains one wound dressing. These tins are 1943 issue with sulfanilamide shaker envelopes. One tin would be kept inside the first aid pouch on the pistol belt, and sometimes an additional tin was carried in a pocket.
The writing on the tin reads: Front: First Aid Packet, U.S Gov't - Carlisle Model - To open: Pull tape - Red color indicates back of dressing - Put other side next to wound
The back of the tin reads: WITH SULFANILAMIDE, CONTRACTOR CONRAY PRODUCTS COMPANY, N.Y.
