ORIGINAL GERMAN WWII FALLSCHIRMJAGER PARATROOPER CARRYING BAG AND PARTIAL PARACHUTE
GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE PARACHUTE CARRYING BAG - ORIGINAL
This Luftwaffe Parachute carrying bag was standard issue for both Luftwaffe aircrew and also Fallschirmjager troops and designed to carry both parachutes and harnesses.
Made of coarse light brown hessian or burlap material with webbing handles and cotton reinforced edges.
The bag is generally in good used condition with just minor wear on the bottom. With repair patch and some staining.
The top is fastened by 'Lift the Dot' fasteners that are stamped 'Zieh Hier' (literally 'Pull Here').
There is one lift the dot stud missing and 1 stud popped out of the material but still there.
The bag comes with a partial German WW2 RZ36 Silk parachute. Some kind of rope also but too big for suspension cords. So not sure what it is.
The rope was in the bag with parachute when we bought it in Normandy France.
We were told the bag came from Carentan area. So this could belong to the 6th Parachute Regiment.
Carentan was defended by two battalions of Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 6 (6th Parachute Regiment) of the 2nd Fallschirmjäger-Division.
German Luftwaffe parachute troops used at least four types of parachutes: marked RZ1, RZ16, RZ20, and RZ36.
