Original German NSDAP (NAZI PARTY) 1936 PATTERN POLITICAL CAP EAGLE.
The right facing eagle features extended, pointed wing tips with a roughly 50mm wingspan. Reverse of the eagle is a mirror image of the obverse. Maker marked “RZM M1/111” for Gbr. Gloerfeld Metallwarenfabrik KG, Lüdenscheid.
Only 1 prong intact.
Allegedly the first pattern Third Reich political national eagle was personally designed by Adolf Hitler himself and was introduced on November 4, 1927. Originally the first pattern eagle was worn on the Kepi by SA and SS personnel and was not adopted for wear by NSDAP political leaders until 1931. Uniform regulations of January 1934 introduced a second pattern political style national eagle.
