GERMAN WWII EARLY ARMY HEER OFFICER DAGGER BY ALCOSO WITH SCABBARD - ORIGINAL

GERMAN WWII OFFICER Alcoso Wehrmacht DAGGER

Description

A model 1935 Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by Alcoso of Solingen. – Alexander Coppel of Solingen.

The blade on this one looks mint. The tip comes to a perfect point. The “Alcoso ACS scales Solingen”,  maker mark is nicely executed!

The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel nickel-silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. There are 2 small dents (1 on each side) at the bottom near the tip of the scabbard. The deep orange grip is flawless. Original throat retaining screws remain intact.

The Alcoso eagle cross guard provides nice detail throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath and chest but the reverse of the cross guard shows wear and matching patina. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with oak leaves and acorns. The whole piece has patinaed with age.

The portepee on the dagger is in original nice condition.

Received from the Royal Winnipeg Rifles Museum, Canada. The museum was selling off some of there museum’s items, to make room for more. The museum called it deaccessioning surplus museum artifacts.

The museum numbers their items for inventory purposes and you will see that there is a very small white number on this item put there by the museum. They are very easy to remove with your fingernail.
