GERMAN WW2 K98 BLACK LEATHER AMMUNITION POUCH

K98 3 POCKET LEATHER AMMUNITION POUCH.

Original era manufacture three pocket K98 rifle pouch is made from pebbled grain black leather with white stitching.  It has 2 belt loops stitched and riveted and a metal D-ring on the back.Each pocket fastens separately with a leather strap and metal stud.

There is a RB Nr:  but it is difficult to read we can make out  /19  /00 .

Nice pouch.

The K98 ammo pouches were traditionally worn in pairs on the waist belt, either side of the belt buckle.   Each compartment holds two 5rd stripper clips of 7.92 mm ammunition, with a pair of K98 pouchs carrying a total of 60 rounds.

Every soldier received 2 pouches (except for some second line support troops who only received one pouch).
