GERMAN GAS MASK AND FILTER WITH CANISTER AND CAPE - ORIGINAL
This is an original German WW2 gas mask size 2 and comes complete with filter and gas mask canister dated 1936 and restamped in ink on the bottom with 1938 with eagle. Also comes with the gas cape.
The original German gas mask bears it's original German manufacturer's codes and markings and is complete with original head straps. The filter is also original WWII and comes with original WW2 markings.
Includes original gas mask straps.
The gas mask is like new, very good condition.
Marked as follows:
Round Filter: DEZ 41 along with stamped eagle.
Bottom of Gas Can: Stamped 1938 with eagle
Lid of Spare Lens: Eschebach 1936
Includes the original cape. This cape goes into the gas cap pouch that is so often seen empty. Capes such as these were used to drape over the soldiers head during a gas attack to create a safe bubble under the cape so the soldier can put on his gas mask without being contaminated.
Received from the Royal Winnipeg Rifles Museum, Canada. The museum was selling off some of there museum’s items, to make room for more. The museum called it deaccessioning surplus museum artifacts.
The museum numbers their items for inventory purposes and you will see that there is a very small white number on this item put there by the museum. They are very easy to remove with your fingernail.
