GERMAN WW2 ALUMINUM MESS KIT ORIGINAL

This is an original German WW2  mess tin M31 or Kochgeschirr Model 1931 (cooking pot Model 31).  Looks like it is dated 1943.

It is a kidney shaped, enameled steel, cooking pot with a total capacity of over 1.7 liters. It consists of 2 parts: the pot with a wire handle, and a cover with a handle to use as a plate.

This mess kit has it's owners name scratched into it - BANTZ.
