GERMAN WW1 M16 HELMET WITH LINER AND CHIN STRAP ORIGINAL

Model M16 M-1916 German WWI Helmet with liner and chin strap.

Size 64 shell.

Hard to make out the number but we think shell is stamped TJ66 indicating that C. Thiel & Söhne, Lübeck manufactured it.

Seems to be small size liner for this size shell . maybe was changed to fit smaller head. .No string and 1 pad has stuffing missing that goes under 1 of the leather tongues. Heavy cotton material is still there so you could add some padding back .

• Maker’s code with marking TJ66 stamped on the interior of the shell found over the wearer’s left ear!
  Correct original air ventilation lugs.
  Correct M1891 chin strap post mounts.
