DR. FRITZ TODT AWARD  - HIGH QUALITY REPRODUCTION

 

This is a high quality Dr. Fritz Todt Prize - 2nd Class, Silver Award, made of silvered zinc, measuring 41.9mm(width) x 65.42mm (height).

This is a WWII Third Reich Nazi Dr. Fritz Todt medal badge was awarded for Civil Engineering service. It has a large eagle sat at the top of a swastika with a cog-tooth design and Dr. Fritz Todt notation embossed to the underside. 

This medal is so good it will pass as original.   This is a top of the line German WWII reproduction medal. For collectors who want the best, but don't want to pay the original price.

Dr. Fritz Todt was born September 4,  1891.  He was a   German construction engineer and senior figure of the Nazi Party.

Dr. Todt founded the OT or Organisation Todt, which was a military-engineering group that supplied the German industry with forced labour.  He also served as the Reich Minister for Armaments and Ammunition.

Dr. Fritz died February 8,  1942 whenhis aircraft crashed right after take off.  He then was succeeded by Albert Speer who became the Reichsminister and head of the OT.

This medal was first introduced by Dr. Robert Ley, a Labour Front leader and was meant to commemorate the Achievements of Dr. Todt.  

The award was given to Germans who made valuable contributions to the war especially by improving the production of weapons and munitions.
