GERMAN KRIEGSMARINE 2ND MODEL NAVAL OFFICER DAGGER
GERMAN 2ND MODEL NAVY DAGGER COPPEL, ALEXANDER ALCOSO SOLINGEN - ORIGINAL
This is a Kriegsmarine 2nd model Naval Officer dagger with maker mark. The non-etched blade is marked with rare maker Alexander Coppel GmbH (Alcoso), Solingen.
This Navy dagger is not in the greatest condition. The eagle is missing on the Kriegsmarine Dagger Pommel.
The grip looks like it will clean up and be presentable and the grip wire remains nice and tight.
The cross guard release button on the handle is missing but release on the blade itself is complete and still functional.
The blade is actually not that bad of condition.
The original scabbard of this 2nd Model Navy Dagger is a typical, brass example, with some attractive dark toning to the metal surface. The scabbard shows wear from use but no dents and should clean up nice.
The price reflects the condition. Great starter piece for your dagger collection.
Received from the Royal Winnipeg Rifles Museum, Canada. The museum was selling off some of there museum’s items, to make room for more. The museum called it deaccessioning surplus museum artifacts.
The museum numbers their items for inventory purposes and you will see that there is a very small white number on this item put there by the museum. They are very easy to remove with your fingernail.
