HITLER YOUTH  NATIONAL TRADE COMPETITION BRONZE CLASS DISTRICT WINNER'S BADGE - ORIGINAL 

This is a German WWII HJ Hitlerjugend Kreissieger level national trade competition badge. A Medal of honor for district winner in the Reich professional competition in 1942. A very rare collectible!

We are selling for less then ½ price because it has been de-nazified. Some one scratched out the swastika.

The implementation of Reich vocational competitions was initiated in 1933 by the Reich Youth Leadership and the German Labor Front. The first competitions took place in 1934. These were carried out by the German Labor Front and the Hitler Youth (HJ), initially only for young people. 

The competitions took place staggered according to level, local competition, district competition, regional competition and finally the national competition. It was divided into around 20 training occupations and students were added from 1935 onwards. In 1938, participation was also permitted for adults. 

The badges were awarded in 3 levels. Bronze, silver and gold. This badge Kreissieger was an award for District Winner. Professional practice, theory and ideological knowledge were tested in the competition. Girls also had a home economics exam. The winners earned recognition and better career opportunities.

The Reich victors were presented to Adolf Hitler on May 1st. For the Hitler Youth, the professional competition was an important platform for ideology, advertising and self-expression. 

The national eagle is laid out with outstretched wings that extend beyond the edge of the circle. He holds in his clutches a combination of the cogwheel of the German Labor Front and the diamond of the Hitler Youth.  This symbol extends over the edge by about half.   The edge of the circle is formed from a laurel wreath.  The enclosed field with a narrow edge is enamelled white.  The writing is curved at the top of the edge:  KREISSIEGER. Under the eagle's outstretched wings the corresponding year of the competition. 1942. The gear is bronze colored and without enamel.

This is overlaid by the silver bordered, red and white enamelled diamond of the HJ.In the middle of the diamond in the silver square is the black swastika placed on top.The back is Bronze and smooth with a vertical pin.
