GERMAN CUSTOMS (ZOLLSEKRETAR) OFFICERS TUNIC

This is a German Customs (Zollsekretar) Officer tunic with Customs Senior NCO rank cuff titles and shoulder boards.

Tunic is made of very fine grey/green smooth wip cord type wool and feel almost like doe skin with dark green collar.

Tunic has 6 button front with silver pebbled matt antique finish on the buttons also has two breast pockets with scalloped pocket flaps with two lower waist pockets with scalloped pocket flaps.

Collar tabs are machine woven in green thread on dark green with one small silver aluminum rank pip and are machine sewn to collar

The shoulder boards are subdued grey and dark green braid with silver "RFV" cypher with dark green wool underlay, for rank of "Zollsekretar". One should board has a bit of wear on the edge.

Customs Cuff Band is on the left cuff, it is light green with silver edge top and bottom with silver aluminum flat wire and the Customs Eagle in center.

Tunic has 1914-1918 Merit and Long Service Ribbon Bars and loops for one badge on left pocket.

The inside is lined with a smooth green grey linen material with a internal pocket and bandage pocket for border guards.

Overall shows almost no wear or age on this very fine quality tunic.

There has been some post war sewing by arm pits repairing inner lining in the arm to the tunic inside lining . It is a nice job and looks good.

You will also see a shadow on the front and sewing inside of a German WW2 breast eagle ( see pictures ) so i am not sure why that is. it was removed .
