GERMAN ARMY TROPICAL WEB COMBAT Y-STRAPS (DAK)
WWII GERMAN DAK Y-STRAPS (SUSPENDERS) - REPRODUCTION
German tropical y-straps (DAK) are made of cotton web canvas with metal fittings and leather.
Both front and back straps are adjustable and are made of quality canvas and accurately reproduced hooks and d rings.
These German y-straps have a more brownish color web material. They also came in many shades green and tan webbing.
The German web gear was intended to be "Ersatz," or replacement, for expensive leather gear, so many units in Europe from 1942 on wore the web y- straps as a alternative to the leather y-straps.
These German tropical y-straps were commonly used by the Deutches Afrikakorps (DAK), but also by the Heer (Army) and SS in the late-war period.
