BRITISH PARATROOPER PARACHUTE BAGS X-TYPE MK.III

This is a set of an original WW2 British/Canadian inner and outer parachute bags. It is an X-Type MK.III    This holds the parachute within the pack.  Once ready to jump this helps to release the chute but this bag remains on the wearer.  

Markings on both the interier and exterior bags.

The British X-type troop parachute was a highly successful design resulting from the cooperation of two competing firms, GQ and Irvin Air Chutes.  Adopted late in 1940 as the MkI (15A/475), it continued in service with several modifications through the end of the war.
