JAPANESE TYPE 90 TETSUUBO (M30/32) STEEL HELMET WITH REPRODUCTION LINER - ORIGINAL

This original Japanese WWII Type 90 Combat Helmet With Original Paint were probably left by the retreating Japanese Army that had numbered 150,000 at the peak of its occupancy in Thailand from December 1941.

Thailand (formally known as Siam) were allied to the Japanese Empire during WWII and many Thai soldiers served with the Japanese Army, though a Guerrilla force numbering around 90,000, were active in fighting the Japanese.

After the war the Thai army installed French style liners in the Japanese WWII Type 90 Combat Helmet

Which now has been replaced by a reproduction Japanese WWII Type 90 liner.

The Japanese soldiers name is still written inside the helmet.  See photos.

The Japanese M1932 helmet was designed and put into service in 1931-32 for the Imperial Japanese Army. The design resembled a steel pot with a helmet liner and strap. It saw all the actions of the Japanese during World War II. It usually had a net mounted on it so the soldier could attach brush and other natural scenery to their helmets.
