The blade ricasso is marked with British Crown Proof marks 1913 / issue date 11 16 and Remington logo maker mark on one side of the blade and has various British acceptance markings on the other side including the British Broad Arrow
The bayonet comes complete in its original WW1 leather scabbard with "Lozenge" shaped frog stud. The scabbard itself has markings stamped on metal part by the frog stud that looks like EFD AV or ENFIELD, Royal Arms Factory, Enfield; maker or repairer marks on the scabbard
This original British WW1 Bayonet was made by the Remington Arms Company in the U.S. for the British Army and was made to replace the S.M.L.E. as the standard issue rifle for the British Army.
