WW2 1940 GERMAN WEST WALL AWARD DOCUMENT

This is an original German West Wall award document, Deutfche Schutzwall Ehrenzeichen, dated March 15, 1940 and given to Sergeant (Unteroffizer)  Josef Schlichte in Suttgart.  

This medal was an award instituted on August 2, 1939 and was given to recognize both civilian workers and military personnel who designed and built the fortifications on Germany's western borders, known as the Westwall or Siegfried Line, between 15 June 15, 1938 to March 31,1939.
