Original WW1, 1915 dated, three pocket GEW98 rifle pouch is made from pebbled grain brown leather with white stitching .
It has 2 belt loops stitched and riveted and a metal D-ring on the back.
Each pocket fastens separately with a leather strap and metal stud.
The GEW98 pouches are marked:

The GEW98 ammo pouches were traditionally worn in pairs on the waist belt, either side of the belt buckle. Each compartment holds two 5rd stripper clips with a pair of GEW98 pouchs carrying a total of 60 rounds.
Every soldier received 2 pouches (except for some second line support troops who only received one pouch).
