ORIGINAL GERMAN WW2 AFRIKAKORPS DAK 2ND MODEL SUN HELMET WITH BADGES 1942 DATED

Afrikakorps DAK 2nd model sun helmet.

The original olive/khaki felt covering is completely intact but has some dents and few marks in the top from wear and retains its original color well. 

The helmet band, which hides the attachment rivets for the chin strap and liner, is great as well, with an intact top vent cap.

The leather trim and chin strap show just a tiny bit of wear to the green finish, and are still supple and soft. 

The two aluminum badges are in good condition, with no oxidation, and just a bit of paint flaking on the Heer eagle badge.

The interior of the helmet still has all of the original green felt covering intact.

The liner itself shows only a bit of scuffing around the rim, and all of the attachment cotter pins are still present. 

The underside of the sweatband is marked size 56 with 1942 date and company manufacturers code: APN for Company Gebr.Wendler GmbHfrom Reutligen.

The red felt inner lining is complete with a small rip.

All in all pretty nice condition for being almost 80 years old.
