WW2 SHOULDER BOARDS WITH PIPS AND CYPHERS FOR THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICIALS PERSONNEL - ORGINAL

THis is a set of Administrative officials shoulder boards with 2 pips and the HV cypher.  Green backing for the Waffenfarbe.

The German army had a tradition, dating from the 1700’s, of maintaining a separate branch of Administrative Officials attached to the army to oversee all administrative functions, thus freeing up active army Officers and allowing them to concentrate on actual military matters.

Military Administration officials,  legal, and technical service positions were usually placed in a category unique to the Wehrmacht. They consist of civil service personnel performing functions within the Armed Forces and are recruited, in part, from former professional non-commissioned officers who became military candidates for civil service (Militäranwärter).

They wore shoulder boards similar to those of soldiers of equivalent rank, but distinguished by the addition of dark green elements (Waffenfarbe) (Branch of Service Color).  Prior to 1940 a secondary colour could be added to denote the career of the official however sfter 1940 the secondary color of light grey for all Officials regardless of career or function.

In addition metal pins with the HV (Heeres verwaltung "Army Administration") cyphers were worn.  The change in German regulations of dated December 22ND 1934 stipulated that the "HV" cyphers were to be worn by all Officials.
