This is a pair of signed and dated letters written by then senator, Edward Kennedy, to Sargeant Jack C. Nelson, who had written to Mr. Kennedy a number of times.

On of these letters was date March 18, 1980 and the other was dated September 10, 1980.
Sargeant Nelson, who served from 1945 to 1949 was a Bronze Star Medal holder along with a Good Conduct Medal holder who was honorably discharged from the army after sustaining injuries. He is writing to Mr. Kennedy along with other representative of the U.S. government with his concerns about the Veteran Affairs.
The first returned letter from Ted Kennedy dated March on United States Senate letterhead is one page with his signature at the bottom.
The second signed letter dated in September, is more detailed in scope and is two pages long, with the Mr. Kennedy's signature on the second page. Ted Kennedy's original signature is worth between $250 - $270 and this is without the additional information of who the receiptient was.
