FRANCE WW1 WAR CROSS CROIX DE GUERRE 1914-1918 MEDAL AND RIBBON WITH STAR

This is an original French WW1 War Cross 1914 - 1918 - Croix de Guerre and original ribbon. This medal is given to recognize both French and Allied solders for valourous serice during WW1.   It was first created in 1914 and consists of a square-cross medal on two crossed swords.

This comes with one bronze star.  The stars represent the importance or degree of the soldier's role during the action. The lowest degree is represented by a bronze star and the highest degree is represented by a bronze palm.
