MKII Steel Helmet British Army- REPRODUCTION

Steel helmet Standard bowl-shaped MkII steel helmet, painted olive green. Internally the helmet features a black liner made of five tongues with a rubber pad to the crown. There is a khaki coloured canvas web cinstrap fitted.

WW2 MKII Tommy steel helmet also called the Doughboy or Brodie Helmet.

Made of 18 gauge steel.

Liner size is 7- 7 1/8.

Originally designed in London in 1915 by Latvian inventory John Leopold Brodie, thereby being called the Brodie Helmet.  This was a modified form of the Mark 1.  

Other names were the Tommy Helmet, Battle Bowler, Shrapnel Helmet along with the Dishpan Hat, Washbasin, Tin Pan Hat and Kelly Helmet.
