This is most likely post war but they are identical to British WW11 Paratrooper Helmet Chin Straps. We have a few so not exactly as shown .

The chinstrap is made of canvas. A leather cup is secured towards the center of the strap. The end of every strap is capped with a crimped metal tip. This avoids fraying and makes it easier to thread the end through a buckle.
