Authentic
Price
: $4500.00
Field-gray,
wool/rayon blend construction, M43 style tunic featuring five button
front closure and has four non-pleated, front pockets with straight
edged button down flaps. The breast pockets are the patch style
while the hip pockets are the saddlebag type with expanding side
panels. Tunic has four sets of two, vertically aligned, stitch
eyelets with one set situated at either side of the front closure and
two to either side of the back panel, at the waistline. Eyelets
were designed for the belt support hooks. Sleeve cuffs have
vertical outside seam slashes, with adjustment button. Upper left
sleeve has a machine woven SS eagle, in silver-gray threads on a cut-out
woven, black rayon base.
It
has the EM's Feldgendarmerie orange shoulder boards and EM SS Collar
Tabs, embroidered with standard SS runes on right tab with left
blank. Also the iron cross second class ribbon in button
hole. Interior of the tunic is lined in a gray HBT rayon. It
has some small rips and some staining from general wear especially at
the neck. Lining is still in excellent condition for its
age. Tunic is in overall very good condition but has a small moth
or burn hole to the right bottom pocket. The buttons are the
field-gray painted, pebbled, magnetic sheet metal type and most appear
to have original stitching.
SS
uniforms evolved from the early "traditional brown" shirt
uniform, to the black and earth gray service uniforms in 1932 to the
first field-gray uniforms in 1935. In 1937 a modified field -gray
uniform was introduced and was worn throughout the war with minor
alterations that basically followed the same modifications of the army
style uniforms. (See
