This is an original Mine Marker Flag and was used by American sappers to pinpoint mines to allow crack units to cross minefields before mine clearing had taken place.  Each marker is of steel rod construction with holder for second marker to be added to give additional height for easy spotting.  Marker measures 20" overall.
